  I’m honestly still deciding how I feel about this film. The premise of it is so cool–that this is a true story and the actors in the movie are the actual people who lived the events that are detailed–but the film is also tinged with a sort of sadness precisely because of the same reasons. The fact that the girls could hardly communicate because of years of isolation is really saddening, but it’s also saddening to watch their father attempt…

  I thought this movie was hilarious in its use of satire and the fun it pokes at prescribed gender roles. Megan is a very likable main character–she feels incredibly genuine throughout the entirety of the film, and her shift in perspective and sexual awakening seemed to make her even more confident and comfortable with her identity.
