Appreciated the artistic take on a documentary but the story wasn’t interesting and the dramatized parts weren’t very convincing. They spent the whole movie talking about how much they planned it just for them to make every bad decision possible during the heist. I wish they’d used this creative format and style on a worthwhile story. Also I think Barry keoghan is ruined for me. Gives me the ick.
I think certain aspects are done really well and some are done poorly. The setup is bad but once it turns the corner I found myself surprisingly very absorbed. Despite pretty thinly developed (and sometimes annoyingly dumb) characters the stakes feel very high and the paranoia is palpable had me questioning everything.
Bland and ugly and unoriginal. The story is somewhere between fight club and shutter island except bad. Nothing interesting whatsoever happens and there’s not even a cohesive plot development thread it’s just him being crazy. It’s mostly very predictable and then the few things that were unpredictable were not at all interesting/rewarding for the audience. The color palette is ugly and needlessly drab it’s a complete eye sore. Christian Bale is the only good thing about this movie and unfortunately his performance isn’t enough to save it.
Mildly funny and good vibe but way too long and convoluted. Liked the main character and Joaquin’s performance but his vibes can only carry it so far. I’ve never read the book but could guess it’s not one that’s easily adaptable to the screen. Too many characters and threads. Think this is my least fav PTA film I’ve seen.
