An engaging sci-fi horror B movie with some fun homages to the genre. The story is a bit derivative, but the body horror and psychedelic lighting make it worth a watch.
Tbh I feel like if they tried to have simpler, but more practical effects they would have blended way better with the fantastic practical environments. The landscape miniatures are great, and this might have the coolest space suit design since Alien.
There’s an awesome Dead Space 2 reference, bonus points for that. I’m really excited to see what Flying Lotus does next!

Another Robert Eggers banger. the attention to detail in his movies is *chefs kiss*. The languages and vernacular used, costumes, and naturalistic lighting make it feel so real.
Nearly all the acting is fantastic. Especially Lily-Rose Depp, whose performance during the possession scenes literally gave me goosebumps. Between her and Nell Tiger Free in The First Omen, movie possessions are back in a big way.
Also, I love that Count Orlok only speaks Dacian (a dead language once used in Romania) when speaking to Ellen in her dreams/visions. It really shows how special she is to him.

Atrocious. Really bold choice by the director to not do a second take for any scene.
Tries so hard to be edgy with its bad CGI blood and swearing, but is so unbelievably boring. Theres nothing here that hasn’t been done better before.
Just awful, complete waste of time.
