  this film rather paints out the hierarchy of society and how many people in power are still so influenced by this dynamic. no matter what situation, they still deem materialistic things to be a trophy, or a symbolism of authority. it also shows that even though others have suffered under this structure, as soon as they get a taste of this power, it consumes them and they become the person that they envy so heavily.
