I listen to music and watch movies stoned

Threads gives us a sobering glimpse into a world all too possible with the threat of nuclear war looming over our heads, but what was almost equally disturbing as the sheer devastation from the books was the complete disregard and brushing off of regular (sick, starving, desperate) people. Those working for the UK government are often heard saying things like "they're all dead anyway". Police arrest looters going through empty houses, then take the food from them and will complain…
The premise of this movie could've been interesting, but I just can't stand Tatum's character. I don't think I was supposed to like him either way, but he just came across as a gigantic piece of shit that is absurdly oblivious on how to interact with dogs. There were some genuinely emotional scenes that at least attempted to explore the dynamic between a war-hardened veteran and a war-hardened dog, and really the dog saved the movie.
Its philosophy was all over the place and generally pretty questionable. It feels like it was made to pander directly toward the libertarian/neoconservative crowd.
