excluding the great soundtrack of 60s jazz, i really disliked this film and the legacy it put on amy. it was barely about her music career, and focused more on her relationships and addictions. i think it’s a common theme on female biopics to push onto narratives that are harmful, similar to blonde. just let her rest

my favourite part of this movie is that everyone had their flaws but no one was was the “villain” (except from that pageant lady). i think it shows that all of them were “losers” in some way, but because they were never afraid of not winning they couldn’t be - just like the grandad said
