love the story of a silly goose who misses his mommy. i do wish he was a little scarier though, like sitting-in-that-boat-on-his-chocolate-river-screaming-at-children scary, needed that glimpse to round this out.

editing and sound design were cooooooool, nicolas cage was very goooooooood, overall wasn’t the best but i don’t think it was supposed to be, it’s just a weird lil movie.
kind of felt beaten over the head with the dream-fluencer thing, like i get it, but felt very this-is-what-a-middle-age-person-thinks-of-gen-z, and that’s never fun.
when nicolas cage is in the booth at the beginning and turns around to respond but says nonsense: that was perfect.

five stars because it’s visually maybe the most beautiful movie i’ve ever seen? the only one that i kept thinking about was arrival so denis just has my visual heart.
might be a dune-head in the way i’m a lotr fan: we own the books and they are right there to read but the movies are just too beautiful and perfect to even think about a page.
