  Unknowingly…this was actually my first Almodóvar. 

  Now, am I upset by this? God, no. I saw a cowboy Pedro as one of my options for entertainment on a long haul flight and I did what any sane person would do. 

  But am I surprised? Well..no

  I’m writing this in my advanced methods masters class having just watched this masterpiece of a film the night before…the come down has never been more brutal. 

  Also, nobody told me the dad was FINE. I would go to the ends of the earth to protect those little girls but they don’t need me because they have nanny, and a hot dad, AND TOTORO, and a magical forest and each other and whimsy of heart and !!:!!/<3
