Kiarostami parvient à nous montrer que la beauté des paysages ne réside ni dans la modernité, ni dans les critères européocentrés mais bien dans chaque lieu imprégné d’une histoire. Malgré une histoire à laquelle je n’ai pas forcément accroché, cette œuvre a une dimension apaisante et presque familière.

« In moonlight, black boys look blue »
The feelings I felt watching this are indescribable. It portrayed what it is to be a black queer man in an environment filled with toxic masculinity. Yet this film spreads a message full of hope : you will find love whoever and whatever you are.
The music, the atmosphere is so comforting and poetic I can’t even describe it. I loved watching moonlight and I will watch it again very soon :)
