This is objectively one of the most beautiful films every made, and I felt like I knew a lot about it going in, but I was so caught off guard and amazed by Julie Andrews’ Maria being snarky, strong, and kind of a mess. I love her and I want to be her.
The relationship between Maria and the Captain needs to be studied because they just don’t make romance like this anymore.
