  Sometimes you just gotta have some 80's schlocky television on in the background while you tidy up your office. Something with some real good synth that just happens to have Wes Craven as director. Tapping into the fears of the era, a cautionary tale against selling one's soul for higher social status and all the opulent trappings thereof. Oh yeah!   Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. I'd put it on for my mom and had only intended to watch the first few minutes with her because I needed to go to work but then I became completely engrossed. Such compelling performances. Hugh Grant the way we've never seen him before. Oh my. Butterflies for everyone!

  The relatability of this one, even though I am not a mother but definitely still in the caretaker role, made it a harder watch than I thought it would be. Soooo... I guess that makes it therapeutic that I cried AND laughed? A gift that it made it to streaming as soon as it did. Maybe I'll give the book a try sometime.
