The Wind Rises 2013
A beautiful movie based on a true story and an excellent example of how in war, the only weapon is man. The sound design is spectacular and really highlights this message, with the plane noises sounding almost like human-made noises. I saw that Miyazaki drew parallels of his own life to this movie which makes it feel so much more personal. The blend of dreams with reality made this a truly phenomenal film and a new favorite Ghibli for me.
