The Last Stop in Yuma County

    ★★★½

The Last Stop in Yuma County is a sometimes silly and funny, thriller-ish, neo noir that reminded me a lot of Vengeance (2022) and Laroy, Texas (2023).

I liked the diner setting, and how more people started getting into the mess. The Mexican standoff scene was probably my favorite.

Acting was okay, with the highlight being Jocelin Donahue, Richard Brake coming in second, and coming in dead last of all the cast: Jim Cummings; I just did not like his performance.

Good first entry from the director Francis Galluppi, coming in hot with some very decent writing as well, and an okay editing.

    ★★★

Dumb and silly humor, but I like it. I remember this being more funny, though. Was it because I was a dumb and silly teenager? Or maybe because I watched it with friends back then, and you just enjoy movies like this more that way? Probably a bit of both.

Mark Wahlberg was good in this role, and he had good chemistry with Mika Kunis. I like them together.

    Challengers

Exhilarating, sexy, stressful, beautiful, sexy again. Challengers is an amazingly crafted movie that had me pumped and biting my nails off. Great performances by everyone and my girl Zendaya is one good looking woman, my god.

Honestly I could not care less for tennis, but oh boy does this make it look interesting. The amazing shots from “below the court” of Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor against the clear blue sky had me in awe. That, combined with an electrifying soundtrack…

  • Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

    Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

    ★★★★½

Not what I was expecting, but it was still an amazing and beautiful ride filled with incredible stunts in some damn sick vehicles.

Furiosa immensely expands on the lore of Fury Road but it does so in a way darker tone than its predecessor. From her abduction, to going through the process of adapting to the wasteland, losing her arm, and finally exerting her revenge, Furiosa takes you through a wild and tragic life surrounded by some of the damn…
