What a trip. Amazing performances by the three main stars - particularly by Zendaya, who is fantastic in this film - unfortunately can't save a story that seemingly goes nowhere and a director whose team was apparently handed an overfunded FX budget. Don't get me wrong - some of the shots are awesome, the soundtrack is fun, and the film will have you legitimately belly laughing at points - but it loses its luster as the 2 hour plus runtime…

Beautifully shot film, surprisingly awesome soundtrack, and definitely not what I expected. More of a commentary on how people can get desensitized to violence when it’s all around them than anything. The suspenseful moments are killer, while the action really takes off in the third act. Dunst may deserve an Oscar nod on this one, while Plemmons makes an all time fun cameo. Overall really enjoyed this one.
