Arnovsky is like having dreams and thoughts right in the minute before falling asleep. Making sense and not at once. You have to kinda be ready for unpleasent fantasies and bothering ideas along a sweet and smooth moving story. Its a complex that you can neither love nor hate, you just have to get along and enjoy the director's mindset and point of view.
