this movie is darling and yet unsettling and then at the end of the day darling. loved it ever since i was a kid. the narration is poised and precise. and you feel a dread come over you as you see tim overuse and in some sorts abuse his gift when he stalks (even if well-intentioned) mary. and throughout kitty’s depression is foreshadowed and you can’t escape the dramatic irony in front of you, you can’t make tim understand kitty…

the stars are for the visuals and the music. i am so glad i didn’t pay to see it. emerald fennell obviously does not respect the audience. the ending was a cop-out. there’s not much direction. the movie pretty much just sucks rich people off and has off-putting shock-value type sex scenes. the only redeeming character is felix (jacob elordi) who is still kind of a fucker. and don’t think i didn’t notice that the only person of color was the villain for like the first two acts. why did oliver have sex with everyone and everything????
