  The Personal History of David Copperfield 2019

  This adaption of the beloved Dickens novel features an excellent cast and is honestly a pretty solid film.  The story telling method the movie employs is a little choppy and the ending feels very rushed, but this movie has a lot of heart, is surprisingly funny, features great acting and is definitely worth the watch.  3/5

  Two words for this one: Missed Opportunity! From the trailers, it looked like this movie had what it took to be a hit; a great cast, a fun concept and a lot of laughs. Unfortunately, there were almost no laughs in this movie. Instead the filmmakers decide to spend 90 minutes on whiny characters preaching political messages of “question everything” and “accept everyone.” Regardless of what you think of those messages, it made for a boring and lackluster movie. Disappointing to say the least. 1.5/5

  Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper have amazing chemistry and put together masterful performances. I didn’t particularly enjoy this movie and it’s dark, hopeless depiction of the crushing cycle of substance abuse but I will admit it was very well made.

   One note however: I could’ve used some closed captions for some of both Cooper and Sam Elliot’s mumbling lines in parts of the film. 3.5/5
