Oppenheimer 2023
This might be Nolan’s most mature and nuanced piece yet. The growing feeling of dread as we just wait for what we know will happen builds and builds along with Oppenheimer’s obsession with making all this theory - reality. Politically poignant, expertly woven together through time with cuts to colour and black & white footage, the film manages to keep you engaged despite a whooping 3 hour runtime.

Women Talking 2022
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Poignant piece expertly driven. The narration did feel a bit unnecessary but the final line payoff made it feel worth it - evoking a wave of emotion. Even though the film covers a lot of dialogue there is so much unsaid that the audience can read between the lines. Yes the colour grading is bleak, some might say ugly, but it sets the tone of this place feeling out of time and extremely isolated. Incredible performances all round. Seeing events unfold from a child’s perspective was powerful though under-utilised.
