Having recently seen Bram Stoker’s Dracula on the big screen, I couldn’t help but see how this film reimagined that original story—the huge difference here being that our vamp is not at all humanized. Orlock is a straight up monster.
The visual style and look of this film is beautiful, and it really has a horror film approach. The acting is believable, and Willem Defoe is just perfect as Van Helsing (except that’s not his name in this film).
A great one.
A movie like none other. Part high stakes thriller, action, musical, and romance all mixed into one.
I can’t even describe how I feel after watching this movie. Such a unique concept set in a modern setting. Adds something dystopian. Seen Selena get a lot of flak for her Spanish but I won’t hate.
Even more unhinged than the first.
Wild story with wilder characters. We get introduced to Del Preston and our big baddie Bobby (Christopher Walken) who doesn’t seem to see the magic of our protagonists’ charm. Wish we’d gotten to know him just a little more.
The stuff with Garth in this film kills me in the best way and what to say about the scene between Wayne and Cassandra’s dad… Absolutely bonkers.
Excellent.
