  An exceptional, heartbreaking, gut-punching portrayal of poverty, trauma, abuse, mental illness, addiction, and privilege. And an indictment of how hard it is for people to make “good, smart decisions” with limited resources, unreliable ties, and a string of bad-luck setbacks that each build onto the last.
