Watched this after watching the original 1974 movie, without 1. realising there is also a film from 2006 and 2. this has... zero connection to the 1974 movie.
It's bad. This movie is bad. It does something that a lot of recent movies seem to be doing, which is try to give you a feminist plot but actually fall at every single hurdle and instead create something that both feminists and misognyists alike will hate.

I was expecting to enjoy this film, despite not really knowing anything about it going in and I was right! It was pretty tense and compelling, with a fresh enough spin on possession to keep my attention throughout. The party scene when shit hits the fan was really fun. It also has a bit of humour throughout that is on-tone enough to not seem out of place or trite. Hospitals sure don't work like that and I saw the ending coming a mile away, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it.
I actually liked this a lot. The acting is very good, and whilst the sound design is absolute garbage (canned ARGHH! clip is incredible) it gave me enough midgame confusion to be entralled and kept me guessing til the end. Also Asbestos Horatio Crane is very pretty in this wtf.
