This movie is a masterpiece.
Genuinely, everything about this movie is perfect, and I’ll go through it one-by-one.
First, the atmosphere. From the first few minutes, this movie just feels so much bigger than itself. Simply the opening shots of Fremen revolutionaries engaged in war, and legions of Harkonnen ships silently drifting to the stars as Chani asks “…who will our next oppressors be?” absorbs us in the story entirely. So everyone has been telling me how much I was going to love this movie … and they were right … kind of.
The comedy in here was superb and hit every single time. Which, in all honesty, is why I’m rating it as high as I am. As a raunchy comedy filled with gore and superhero fun this movie nailed it. Combined with some excellent character-building, the vibes just stayed on point throughout.
