  weirdly realistic but in a very unrealistic wes anderson way— creates an interesting contrast between acting and dialogue. unlikable characters due to heavy pretentiousness, but they’re supposed to be unlikable. piqued my interest with weirdness, but grounded with reality and emotion.

  the CGI: fine. the plot and character development: awful. is it really a movie or is it a 3 hour demo of CGI water? i was shocked by how contrived they could make the plot and how unmoving the emotional beats were. i expected it to be bad, yet somehow it was worse. just look at some water in a tub or something and pretend it’s cgi you’ll save 3 hours and some frustration
