This was a fascinating sequel to White Chicks.
Sweet visuals and the 'The Shining' segment was a nice treat, but otherwise super predictable and mildly disappointing.
Read the book though; I found it really good.
Very well written and directed with solid performances from Affleck and co. I definitely do not agree with the masses about this being Fincher's best (I mean c'mon... better than Fight Club? Really?), but it's definitely up there in his catalogue. It involved some interesting depictions of psychopathy tied into relatable themes such as love and relationships.
Overall it's a solid movie that kept me on the edge of my seat. It was very well paced and did not feel like 2.5 hours. Movie of the year? Not in my book, but definitely in the top 5.
Have you ever started watching a documentary and then forgot it was a documentary in the first place? Senna is put together expertly with old archived footage and voiceovers that flow seamlessly, and I was engrossed right from the get-go. Directing and editing aside, Senna conveys an impactful story - one that resonated with me very strongly.
A tale of a man that epitomized passion, resilience, and the pursuit of perfection for a craft. We are unfortunately left with no choice but to wonder what this man would have achieved had he completed that turn in 1994.
