This East German coming out film premiered the same day the Wall fell. The parallels of a shifting society and shifting political situation are palpable but serve as a welcome departure from west-yearning and state utopian falsehoods alike. It‘s not fluffy like many American/West European coming out films and gives insight into gay history in the DDR and what it looked like. Feat. Charlotte von Mahlsdorf as bartender!!! Look her up she’s a German transgender icon and lived in the DDR
