This film was something. I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable because of the gap in the characters' ages and levels of maturity... I hated how Oliver blatantly used the inexperienced boy as a summer fling. To 17yro Elio that summer was so much more in terms of finding himself and exploring his sexuality. His yearning and desire for Oliver were portrayed so well, I could really feel the intensity of his emotions... much like my own when I was 17.…

this film is so heart-wrenchingly beautiful. I watched it with my mom the first time and a second time with my friends; everyone was a little sniffly afterward :')
