Have wanted to watch this since seeing the West End show of the same name last year. Great casting and solid wartime film. If you haven’t heard of the operation I would recommend it’s watching to believe the unbelievable

I liked this much more than I liked Prometheus or Covenant.
Thoughts:
* The lead actress was too young imo I get the vibe they were going for but she struggled to pull off Ripley status looking like she’d just come out of high school. 
* Team Andy all the way - actor and character were winners for me in this film 
* Stop de-aging and CGI’ing real people because it simply doesn’t work…
* That creature at the end is gonna give me nightmares for weeks

Absolutely loved this - what a cast and a journey of time.

I hope De Niro and Pesci won awards for this and if they didn’t, shame on the awards system because they were fantastic; Pesci especially. 

Lost half a star purely on two things: length - you could have cut scene length in a number of places where it wasn’t entirely necessary and nothing needs 3 1/2 hours imo except for Lord of the Rings - and de-aging which was bad, they still moved like geriatrics and even as 40 year olds 🤣
