  I really admire Alex Garland for making this his directorial debut. It's small in scale, but ambitious in its intensity and focus, and in how dark and negative it is about men, especially in relation to women.

  I see this movie as an allegory for the internet and its treatment of women. As Adam Savage said in his wonderful story for The Moth, if the internet was a person, that person would have a serious problem with women.   Hot damn, that was gratifying. 

  Part Rosemary’s Baby, part Drag Me to Hell, part Don't Breathe, and a little bit of Get Out, too. Hilarious pastiche and just a ton of fun. Samara Weaving, I love you.
