Feeds into some puddle depth socioeconomic commentary, and most definitely not a musical, or a good one at least. Imo quite abysmally misrepresents Mexican culture. Places a transgender actress front and centre which should be applauded, but simultaneously seems to make the experience of transitioning appear reductive. Attempted to cover too many bases, ended up pretty sub par. Theme soup springs to mind.
