Just finished this one. And I gotta say, this is such a breath of fresh air in terms of cinema. I fully feel that time will be good to THE BRUTALIST. It is a magnificently joyous and heartbreaking story that is told in such a way that it feels like it's on tier with FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, THE GODFATHER, THERE WILL BE BLOOD, BRAVEHEART, and dare I say GONE WITH THE WIND.

I always thought Ratner was a Frat Boy douchebag. But he seems to be rockin' the shit in this one.
There's a rare bit of 90's cool that exists in this movie. The kind of cool that resides in rooting for the obvious bad guy. A story where the only thing more sinister than our main characters, is a flock of bloodthirsty vampires.
Tarantino with his writing is in its most juvenile state on this project. With one liners out the wazoo. And while that helps with the quote book in my brain, it's about as deep as a puddle.…
I can't say much about this film. Except to say this with absolute conviction. Go watch this film. Watch it as soon as possible. You'll be telling stories of the first time you saw it. Because I believe in 20 years, this movie will be regarded as one of the classics. First ballot hall of famer.
