sometimes i think...does relating to this movie make me really really mentally ill or is this something other viewers can relate to as well?
the absurdity of certain characters and situations, the dream-like sequences, and then the moment where you as the viewer are brought back to earth with a bump, make this movie....comforting...? somehow?

Swing Girls 2004
my trumpet teacher introduced this movie to me when i was 12/13. she said that because they had the correct fingerings down, she suspected the girls might have actually been playing their instruments. i just looked it up, and it seems that many of the actresses had never played instruments before, but due to intensive music lessons over several months, they were able to play live for all their performances.
ok, fun fact time over.
