I've probably seen this movie around 30-40 times in my life.

Since I was generally fascinated by sea animals as a kid, SpongeBob quickly became my favorite childhood series, especially the first four to five seasons.

I remember discovering the movie in a store one day when I was four years old (or maybe five, I'm not quite sure) and begging my parents to buy the DVD; I watched it with them that very evening.

    Well, what can I say,…

The Parallax View is a very entertaining and intriguing political thriller with a dense atmosphere and cleverly staged social criticism.
The cinematography by Gordon Willis captures the claustrophobic atmosphere very well, making the paranoia even more palpable.

I also really liked the slow and systematic narrative style, which kept the threat invisible and the tension high.

The political message about corruption, abuse of power and manipulation is as relevant today as it was then and is very thought-provoking.

I had very high expectations, partly because Chris Sanders directed one of my favorite animated movies, but wow, the movie still exceeded them in every way.

Maybe it's because I've loved animals more than anything since I was a kid; maybe it's because I spent almost every spare minute in our local forest as a little child, but I've rarely had such a wonderful feeling watching a movie as I did here.
The characters are brilliantly written and all interestingly portrayed.…

The movie gets one star because the puppets look very good. The rest is completely garbage

I'd only heard about the case superficially before, but didn't know the details.

The acting was outstanding, you could feel the desperation throughout.
The characters and the moral dilemma in which they found themselves were also written in a very approachable way for me.

Plus the camera work, which I thought was absolutely fantastic, as was the setting in the Andes, which was both beautiful and threatening at the same time.

I think I would have given it an even higher rating, I just think that the middle section stretched out a bit too much.

Nonetheless, a very good and stirring movie from Spain.
