Thank u netflix korea…finally caught up 😭 got chills even watching this on my ipad but the real fun began w interpretations bc this film is so multilayered w the coming of age story, miyazaki’s legacy (& Yoshifumi’s death and confronting aging), sisters as diff povs toward japanese empire and colonization, miyaki’s childhood & criticism of his own father / privilege etc etc. def will watch again & out of all the ghibli films this taught me the most about who miyazaki is and where he’s coming from
