Second entry in the calendar year of hot actors being hot in perfect clothes on the big screen, new entry in the wife guy cannon, new entry in my personal wife cannon (Marisa Abela….it was love at first sight), thank you Mr. Soderbergh.

In a way it’s good I watched this for the first time as a grown adult, terrified of what this movie would’ve done to my psyche as a teen. Currently have Maxwell’s cover of this woman’s work on repeat. So many feelings. Also this is a debut ?!

I liked it? It was a beautiful movie and was most compelling to me at every reunion between the leads — their rekindlings were sweet, full of relief and were the parts of the movie where I personally felt most engaged (aside from conversation between husband and Hae Sung). Otherwise…there’s little dialogue which would be fine, but it never feels as if it goes anywhere or further into the conflict that’s established two minutes into the movie.

It’s fine. Beautiful movie and score. But that’s it, and I definitely expected more.
