The Thing 1982
John Carpenter really knows how to make a horror film! After his recent success with the 1978 film ‘Halloween’ Carpenter went ahead and topped it (in my opinion). Not only is ‘The Thing’ terrifying, it really does a great job of capturing the human element when faced with cabin fever. Carpenter definitely took some inspiration from the 1979 film ‘Alien’, especially the sci-fi element and the visual design of the thing. It doesn’t quite capture the magic that ‘Alien’ did, but nonetheless, a great film.
