I had high expectations coming to this movie, although it wasn't a bad movie, but it lacked certain elements that could've made the story more well rounded. Would've loved to delve into Dwayne and Frank more and also the weirdness of the grandpa and the messed up nature of beauty pageants and beauty standards. Overall, I think 3 stars is a fair rating.

I didn't like this movie one bit. I feel like I'm too generous by giving it 2 stars just because of Sofia Coppola. It was lackluster, weird, gross. I just felt uncomfortable for almost 2 hours. And after reading other reviews and finding out Scarlett was only 17 when filming this movie and that the kiss was non consensual... I would've given it 3 stars without the kiss, it made things ten times more awkward. Such a shame...I had high expectations for this one, but they were ruined.
