  The reason I like the shining. Many people went and saw this movie in the theaters and hated it, but there is far more to this movie than people realize. This movie is connected to real life events like the slaughter of native Americans and the Holocaust. Kubrick was also smart enough to connect this movie to his other movie - 2001 : A space odyssey.
