Godzilla vs. Hedorah 1971
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This is one of the best films of Showa era Godzilla. Godzilla straight up tears out Hedorah's balls Mortal Kombat style and fries them with lightning.
This one feels most like a finale for Godzilla. He even walks off into the sunset with battle scars. His eye got all fucked up and his damn hand was disintegrated down to the bone. Really would've been cool if he kept the battle wounds in subsequent films. It would have been so badass if by the Mechagodzilla films he had a skeleton hand and one good eye.

The final scene of this film should've been the final Mantis monster taking a canoe ride in the afterlife to reunite with his other two Mantis brothers like the ending to The Iron Claw

The Matrix Resurrections 2021
Logical storytelling is thrown out the window in exchange for some meta silliness, in between actions scenes characters just spout off their philosophical ideas, and real world sections can feel overlong but dats Matrix right there baby! It's weird and kind of dorky but that's always been Wachowski films at their core.
Big set pieces are still very cool, themes stay true to the series, and the relationship between Trinity and Neo is still very beautiful. It's not some "love letter to the fans", instead it's a film by Lana Wachowski for Lana Wachowski and that's pretty badass.
