Heretic 2024
Hugh Grant plays a convincing articulate character playing smoke and mirrors w/others. Not much to say other than the disassembling of a belief to see if it resonates w/one’s own senses. I appreciate also how the girls turn the tables on him which built this anticipation of how he would reply. It’s nothing new that hasn’t been done before but is done welI,I think. Reminds me of “Barbarian” in a way.

Oddity 2024
Recommend checking this one out. Only familiar of the name of the directors debut but decided to jump ahead and check this one out (#2?). I was overall impressed. The length doesn’t overstay its welcome while maintaining a steady pace throughout. Only a few jump scares and didn’t feel cheap ;the creepy atmosphere and tension is what shines imo. There’s some Edgar Allen P. writing while parts remind me of a few movies (talk to me,sinister,the exorcist III). Not bad!

Kinda of kindness is another film that Yorgos L. Directed that left me tilting my fucking head like a dog in a state of confusion. How far will you comply in order to be accepted and loved ? At least that’s what I think the theme is…and batshit crazy! Reminds me a lot of “The Lobster” and “Dogtooth”. Not sure how to rate it,time will tell. Definitely a throwback to some of his older films
