  Best decision Dan Stevens has made for his career is leaving Downton Abbey. He’s nuts in this. This guy loves playing freaks and we’re all better off. Also, Hunter Schafer is so much fun to watch. A totally unpredictable and empathetic performance. No idea what was happening for most of the runtime, but I don’t really care. It still works.

  Inspiring, incomprehensible, beautiful, dumb piece of cinema. Feels like an impression of a movie, as if aliens were tasked with producing a genre film but provided with only a few prior films as reference. I'm so happy it exists.

  This could've been an "interesting failure." That's usually what you get with a movie starring Vin Diesel as a warrior tree and a 1970s rock soundtrack that originates from the main character's -- man out of time's Peter Quill played by Chris Pratt -- mix tapes. It could've simply been a strange indulgence from a studio that usually relies on known characters rather than on smart-ass alien raccoons and MMA fighters.
