Cinematography/production design: First-rate.
Performances: Competent to award-worthy.
Script/story: A massive drag.This movie is rife with perplexing decisions. The characters feel like inanimate objects moved around sets, constantly apart from each other when logic would have them sticking together/watching out for each other.
Worst of all is the relentlessly bleak and hopeless tone combined with the fact characters are always (and I mean ALWAYS) screaming, sobbing, bleeding, or having demonic orgasms. Within 30 minutes I was begging for just one of the characters to take chill pills. Very disappointing, and it only gets worse the more I think about it.

Wicked 2024
Perfect example of a film that knows exactly what it wants to be and hits the mark dead on. Cynthia Erivo is as good as you'd expect, but Ariana Grande is the real revelation as a comedic and emotional force. Some sequences could be trimmed, and I wish Jeff Goldblum was playing the Wizard instead of just Jeff Goldblum, but overall, I couldn't ask for more.
