Sappy corny drivel, but strangely enjoyable, like an on-screen GTA

Frank 2014
“Frank” manages to be simultaneously understated and over-the-top, like the vagaries of insanity that plague the show’s fictional band The Soronprfbs and their frontman Frank.
At times meditative, other times full-blown insane.
Like Birdman, it explores the insanity of creation. Or rather, it explores the myth that all creativity stems from some fundamental insanity or adversity, as well as the looming threat that social media poses to creators who just "want to make art".
This tension of making art in a world of entertainment is poised to be a meta-topic that I’m sure will be explored in more films to come.
