Emilia Pérez 2024
As a writer, I can appreciate the layers to each character and story. Not to mention some great lyrics. But as a Latina, this was a slap on the face, specially to those who have suffered at the hands of the cartel or narco traficantes.
The fact that it’s getting so many oscar/award noms makes me think that there are no Latinx people in the voting committee.
Also, Zoe Saldana killed it. (She should be the only one collecting an award)

I agree that a director should get the final cut, but I feel like you could have easily cut 1.5 hrs from this movie and still told an equally emotional and thought provoking story.
All in all, it was a good immigrant story, mixed with the perils of pursuing your dreams in a country built with greed and power.In short: this is every film bro’s wet dream.
