Roger Corman was a genius of storytelling economy. What you get is a fairly tense story driven by an end result you know is coming. The film certainly doesn't overstay it's welcome at a brisk 113 minutes and most certainly delivers on its classic late 50's era drive-in sci-fi premise. Self made cosmetics mogul is desperate to turn back the hands of time and becomes a monster for her efforts. Perfect. Watch with friends, cheer on the women in this film, who are whip smart and entertaining as hell.

The Exorcist III 1990
Adapted from Blatty's "Legion", the author also directs the film. George C Scott and Brad Dourif are incapable of anything less than stellar, gripping performances. Blatty's use of bizarre and unsettling imagery highlight the stark terror of his world, where victims are imperiled by both the dark forces of the supernatural and the real world threat of a deranged serial killer. Blatty takes time with his scenes, letting tension slowly build until finally exploding to stunning effect. It is the true sequel to the magnificent The Exorcist, and should be enjoyed without distraction, with the lights out. Enjoy.

Father Damien is losing his faith and suffering, feeling guilt for the loss of his mother. Reagan's…

Braindead 1992
The finest romance ever filmed, I realize that now. Released in 1992, the special effects for this film hold up surprisingly well. In reality I would call this a comedy first and horror film second. While bloody, violent and downright gross most of the time, it's never really scary, nor does it at any point attempt to rely on or elicit fear. The gore is there to shock the casual viewer, and delight the horror gore-hound, all while being oddly…
