  This great remake of the 50s science-fiction classic offers a body horror approach to the story of the scientist that destroys his life by fusing his body with that of a fly. In the 1958 version Andre exchanged a limb and the head with those of a fly, while in this remake, the new protagonist named Seth fuses his genes with a fly's genes, creating a new organism.

  Porco Rosso might be the most unique film in Miyazaki's career. Said director's movies tend to be either story focused (Nausicaä, Princess Mononoke, Castle in the Sky) or just some fun slice of life whimsy (My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service), while this balances those opposite approaches to film.
