Goofy-ass goons are so back! I went into this expecting it to become a gritty drama about Russian oligarchs and a lot of stressful violence, but it’s not like that at all. Just goofy-ass goons! And a strange ending that somehow felt so correct? Idk, sometimes it just do be like that.

A masterclass on how to build tension. Truly not a single thought except about this movie crossed my mind when I watched it and I have a severe case of Tik-Tok brain. Also, the moment when Tsugomo looks at the Iyi nobleman who is trying to deter him from sepukku with a faux-serious, mocking look and says “You mean, am I serious about this?” and then motions cutting open his stomach with a sword is one of the funniest things in cinema.
