  Lots of Sofia Coppola DNA in the visual elements, I could feel all the rhinestones.

  These looked and felt like real people: Pam blathering about French lido culture and Ina Garten while everyone tries to do a quick change, Kieran Shipka mumbling “butt, butt, hump the chair,” as she tries to remember choreography, Jamie Lee Curtis roasting the idea of retirement, “I’m gonna work, and then I’m gonna work some more, and then I’m gonna die.” People who dance topless…

  My god what a slow movie. There were shots of nothing longer than first dates. The lethargic pace bogged down the good performances. And the desire for subtlety tipped over into “what the hell is happening” territory.
