almost a decade later, i can now understand why lillian was obsessed with this movie in middle school

“Love isn’t something that we invented. It’s observable. Powerful. It has to mean something. Maybe it means something more, something we can’t yet understand. Maybe it’s some evidence, some artifact of a higher dimension that we can’t consciously perceive. Love is the one thing that we’re capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space.”

if ccs was my childhood, haikyuu was my adolescence… i think i will always feel the such bittersweetness (mostly sweet) as i grow older and it continues. such a special way to capture the joy of human connection between friends, rivals, mentors, even acquaintances through sport… the love hate relationship between the player and volleyball, the grit, desperation, emotions involved in practicing, perfecting and loving something…. BYEEEEEE i don’t want it to end 😭 truly so enjoyableeee

thank you for loving me in that moment, what…

    i’m just a girl~~

okkkk in all seriousness (lmfao not really tho) i didn’t feel like this was fairly categorized as a romance or a thriller. i could only focus on asako, even her relationships to me felt like different lenses into which we were witnessing her in the process of becoming, of fucking up, and of living. basically “shoshaku jushaku” (shoutout to lane, and shoutout to derek for the rec)

When we reflect on what we are doing in…
