WOW I watch a lot of gorn and this was brutal in a way that shocked me.
The time jump format was weird but made sense as the film progressed.
I saw another review saying that they didn’t find the main character relatable. Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you work, your goals are not within reach? That the world keeps punching down and you can’t catch a break? Don’t you want to go ape sh*t and change the rules yourself? That’s how the film is relatable.

I did not expect this to be a good movie. The poster, name, and description all carry the hallmarks of made for tv drivel. I loved it. I was so engaged, the production was beautiful, the story has an unexpected mindfuck, it was all good.
It would be 5 stars if not for the antagonist who was obviously a trans woman.

I feel like this movie portrayed negative character traits and behaviors in a way that did not romanticize them, which I am personally very fond of.
The degeneration of Euronymous’s facade of evil and darkness kept this from being a hopeless movie with no depth to the characters.
