Between Mark Ruffalo’s terrible acting (he can’t even do a decent Donald Trump impression? Can we please agree to stop hiring him?) and the many moments of unoriginality (ehem, Challengers?) the best parts of this were the Tim Key and Thomas Turgoose cameos. Good for them.

Full of tropes and plot points that we’ve all seen before, and moments of extraneous action that detracted from a fully realised plot and any political message that was so close to being made. Also…

left this one feeling heavily disappointed; it’s good, but can’t help but feel that the USP is just that it’s long. and long doesn’t necessarily mean good…

first half was much needed exposition, but dragged heavily and felt a bit patchwork. the second half was so much more engaging but still felt myself waiting for it to end at points.

my main takeaway from this is that 1) adrien brody is ripped and 2) joe alwyn is a terrible actor

also the end was such a cop out; and no, i won’t expand on that

but i did appreciate the anti-American sentiment 🫡

Real Bob Dylan, they could never make me like you… Timmy’s Bob Dylan, I love you.

Bio-pics are usually hit or miss, but this one was a pleasant surprise. Chalamet wasn’t Chalamet here at all; he fully embodied the character and I didn’t question that he was acting at any point. I actually enjoyed it, and the live singing was a stroke of genius. Boy can sing! And it’s clear Timothée feels an affinity to the disillusion and warped lens…
